Delete your Video To Reel account
This page deletes your account and everything we hold for it. You can also do it inside the app under Account → Delete account. Both do exactly the same thing.
How do I delete my Video To Reel account?
Deleting a Video To Reel account is a 3-step flow on this page: enter the email address on the account, type the 6-digit code Video To Reel emails to it, then confirm. The same flow lives in the app under Account, then Delete account, and the two are identical. Confirming removes 6 things: your account and the email address on it, every video still being processed, every clip Video To Reel made for you and the files behind them, your transcripts and stored segments, your push notification tokens and your caption preferences. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no undo and no grace period, unlike the 30-day window some services give you. Two things survive on purpose: an anonymised accounting record carrying no email and no name, which tax law requires, and your subscription itself, which lives in Google Play or the App Store and must be cancelled there or it keeps renewing. Clips already saved to your phone are never touched.
What gets deleted
- Your account and your email address on it
- Every video you uploaded that is still being processed
- Every clip we made for you, and the files behind them
- Transcripts and the stored segments used for re-rendering
- Your push notification tokens and your caption preferences
What we keep, and why
- An anonymised subscription record, with no email and no name, because tax law requires us to keep accounting records.
- Your subscription itself is not cancelled by this. It lives in Google Play (or the App Store), and so do the billing records for it. Cancel it there first, under Subscriptions, otherwise it keeps renewing.
- Clips you already saved to your phone stay on your phone. We cannot and do not touch those.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no undo and no grace period, so save anything you still want before you start.
Step 1. Confirm it's you
Enter the email address on the account. We will send a six-digit code to it, the same way you sign in to the app. Nothing is deleted until you confirm on the last step.
Can't sign in?
If you have lost access to the email address on the account, or the form above will not work for you, email support@videotoreel.com and ask us to delete the account. Send it from the address on the account if you can. If you cannot, tell us what you can about the account and we will find another way to check it is yours before deleting anything. We answer deletion requests within 30 days, and usually within a couple of days.
What happens after you confirm?
Deletion runs inside the same request, so by the time the confirmation appears it has already happened — nothing is queued for later and there is no window in which to change your mind. Your videos and clips are removed from the database and the files behind them are purged from storage in the same pass, which takes the private links that served them with it. Anything still mid-render goes too, along with its intermediate files. Your email address is detached from the account and replaced, and your push notification tokens are cleared.
One detail worth being straight about: we keep a one-way hash of the address, which cannot be turned back into your email and is never used to contact you. It exists for a single reason — the free video is one per person per month, and without it "delete the account, sign up again with the same address" would be an endless supply of free videos. Signing in again with the same address therefore gives you a fresh, empty account, but not a second free video for a month you have already used one in.
What deletion covers, and the few things we must keep, is set out in full in the privacy policy.
