Terms of service
The short version. Upload only video you own or have the right to use. Video To Reel processes it into clips for you. We do not publish anything, and we never download video from a link. Subscriptions are bought and cancelled in Google Play or the App Store. Clips are deleted after 30 days (48 hours on the trial), so save what you want.
1. The agreement
These terms are a contract between you and [Company legal name], Ireland ("Video To Reel", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if that is lower.
If you are using Video To Reel on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
2. What the service does
You upload a video file from your device. We transcribe it, select moments from the transcript, reframe those moments to a vertical 9:16 crop that follows the speaker, burn in captions if you asked for them, and return finished clips for you to save or share.
We are a processing tool, not a publisher. Video To Reel does not post anything anywhere, does not host a public feed, and does not make your clips available to anyone but you. What you do with a clip after you save it is yours to decide, and yours to be responsible for.
3. Your account
- You sign in with an email address that you control, verified by a six-digit code.
- One person, one account. Do not share sign-in access.
- Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read it can reach your account.
- Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account.
4. Your content and the rights you need
You keep every right you already have in the video you upload and in the clips we produce from it. We claim no ownership of either, and we do not use your content to train models or to promote the service.
You must own the video you upload, or have the rights and permissions you need to use it this way. By uploading, you confirm that:
- you created the video, or you have a licence or written permission that covers it;
- you have the necessary rights to any music, footage, images or other material inside it;
- everyone identifiable in it has consented as their local law requires, where consent is required;
- processing it through Video To Reel does not breach anyone else's copyright, trade marks, privacy or other rights, and does not break the terms of any platform you obtained it from.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, transcode, transcribe, analyse and render your video solely to produce your clips and to provide the service to you. That licence ends when the content is deleted, which for the source file is immediately after your clips are rendered.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Video To Reel to process, produce or distribute:
- content you do not own or otherwise have the right to use;
- child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors, which we report to the authorities without exception;
- non-consensual intimate imagery, or sexual or intimate content of any identifiable person who has not consented;
- content that incites violence, terrorism or hatred against people on the basis of a protected characteristic;
- content that harasses, stalks, threatens, defames or doxxes a person, or that is created to deceive people about a real person's words or actions ("deepfakes");
- content that is otherwise illegal where you are, or where we operate.
You also may not:
- resell, sublicense or automate access to the service outside the app, probe or attack our systems, or attempt to bypass plan limits, queue priority or the watermark;
- create multiple accounts, or re-upload the same file under new accounts, to get extra free trials;
- reverse engineer the app or the API except to the extent that this cannot lawfully be restricted.
6. No link ingestion
Video To Reel accepts files only. There is no way to give us a YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or other platform URL, in the app or on the server, and there never will be: downloading video from those platforms breaks their terms of service and Google Play policy. Attempting to make the service fetch remote media is a breach of these terms.
7. Plans, minutes and limits
| Trial | Starter | Creator | Studio | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Source minutes / month | one video | 150 | 500 | 1,500 |
| Maximum upload length | 15 min | 45 min | 2 h | 3 h |
| Clips per video | 3 | 10 | 10 | 10 |
| Watermark | yes | no | no | no |
| Clip retention | 48 h | 30 days | 30 days | 30 days |
| Queue | low priority | normal | priority | priority |
Minutes are counted on the length of the video you upload, not on the length of the clips produced. Minutes reset at the start of each billing period, do not roll over, and have no cash value. Re-rendering an existing clip (moving captions, changing style, trimming) does not consume minutes. If a job fails for a reason on our side, the minutes are returned to your allowance automatically. Annual plans are billed once for twelve months and carry the same monthly minute allowance.
These terms set the limits of each plan, not its price. The current price of every plan, in your local currency and including any tax the store charges, is shown in the app and in the store before you purchase.
Jobs run one at a time on shared capacity. Priority queues are served first; we do not promise a specific render time, and we may apply fair-use limits to protect the service for everyone.
8. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play (or the Apple App Store on iOS) using the payment method on your store account. We never receive or store your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, and continue until you cancel.
- Cancel in the store, under Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or App Store → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; deleting the app or your Video To Reel account does not cancel a store subscription.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full access until then, and we do not pro-rate part-periods.
- Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy. Where EU consumer law gives you a right of withdrawal, you can exercise it against the store as seller; note that by starting a render you are asking us to begin the service immediately, which can end that right for the part already performed.
- Prices are shown in the store in your local currency and include VAT where the store charges it. If we change prices, existing subscribers are told in advance and the change applies from the next renewal.
- Upgrading mid-period grants the new allowance immediately; downgrades take effect at the next renewal.
- If a subscription lapses, your account falls back to trial limits and your existing clips remain available until their normal expiry.
9. Trial and watermark
Each account gets one trial video of up to 15 minutes, producing up to 3 clips. Trial clips carry a Video To Reel watermark and are deleted after 48 hours; clips you saved to your device before then are yours to keep, watermark included. The trial does not require a card and does not turn into a paid subscription by itself. We detect and refuse repeat trials, including the same file uploaded from a new account. Removing or obscuring the watermark from a trial clip is a breach of these terms.
10. Storage and deletion
The source video is deleted from our servers immediately after your clips are rendered. Finished clips are deleted after 30 days on a paid plan and 48 hours on the trial. Video To Reel is not a backup service, so save anything you want to keep to your own device. We are not liable for clips that expire on schedule.
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account in the app or at videotoreel.com/delete-account. Details of what that removes are in the privacy policy.
11. Availability
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uptime. Maintenance, capacity limits, upstream provider failures and things outside our control can interrupt it. We may change, add or remove features; where a change materially reduces what your plan offers, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.
12. Reporting content
Video To Reel does not host public content, and clips are private to the account that made them, so there is nothing to browse or report publicly. If you believe someone is using Video To Reel to process content unlawfully, or that your work or likeness has been used without your permission, email [email protected] with the subject "Report content or abuse" and as much detail as you can give (what the content is, why it is unlawful, and how to identify it). We review every report and act, up to permanently closing the account, where a report is substantiated. Copyright notices under the EU Copyright Directive or the US DMCA go to the same address.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Video To Reel at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or where continuing would expose us or other users to risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right; for serious breaches, illegal content above all, we act immediately. If we close your account for a breach, unused minutes are not refunded.
14. Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is". Automatic transcription, moment selection and speaker tracking are best-effort: transcripts contain mistakes, the moments chosen may not be the ones you would have chosen, and a crop can miss. Review every clip before you post it.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law. Subject to that:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost audience, lost revenue, or loss of content you did not keep a copy of;
- our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period; where you have never paid us, it is limited to the price of one month of our lowest-priced plan at the time the claim arises;
- you are responsible for the content you upload and for how you use the clips, and you will cover us against third-party claims arising from your breach of section 4 or 5.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top always shows the current version, and we will give notice in the app before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use Video To Reel after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, cancel and delete your account.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
